"We need to take a picture of a group that will meet in a month in a secret place...", it is in these terms that the newspaper Le Temps contacts Studios Casagrande to take the picture for an article about TED. Fortunately, it has a little time because it is first of all to carry out a casting a little particular: to find a place adapted to carry out this image. This is not an easy task and it is finally the team of the Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva that graciously lends itself to the game by putting at disposal its monumental white staircase. The size of the group is finally very reasonable and 11 of the 15 organizers of TEDx events in French-speaking Switzerland have gathered to create this image.
Here are some pictures of the making-of and the article from Le Temps of December 8th, signed by Anouch Seydtaghia, to announce an extraordinary TEDGlobal conference. Indeed, this event will gather 900 guests tonight to listen to speakers whose names will remain secret until the last minute. Moreover, it is not really a conference but a new type of experience that comes straight from the West Coast of the United States. For Bruno Giussani, one of the organizers of TED, launched in 1984, "The idea is to invite people from all walks of life to share their knowledge and experience. It can be an artist, a scientist, an entrepreneur... TED took a new dimension in 2006 when we started to make the videos of the talksavailable for free on the Web". Then the arrival of TEDx, a kind of TED with free franchise...

For Karin Jestin of TEDx Lake Geneva, "TED's motto is to share ideas that are worthwhile. The idea is to rediscover storytelling, or the art of telling stories. It's about offering a diverse audience a variety of speakers, and even creating sparks in their eyes. At the end of a TEDx, I feel that people are energized, they are touched because they have seen and heard. So the experiences are really transmitted in a powerful way."
