The various armed conflicts experienced in recent years, notably in Syria and Mali, have often led to the massive destruction of cultural property. This situation has no equivalent in history since the Second World War.
In this context,UNESCO is doing its utmost to apply the second protocol 1999, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, to the Hague Convention of 1954. This convention hardens the tone and provides for sanctions comparable to war crimes for the destruction of cultural heritage. UNESCO has just concluded an international summit at the CICG in Geneva (April 25-26, 2019) bringing together high-level specialists to discuss solutions to this societal problem.
The Studios Casagrande were present for this important event with Pascal shooting and Jean-Michel post-processing. This allowed UNESCO to prepare its communication to sensitize the civilian and military population to the issue.
